Camden House German Film Classics
German Film Classics is a new series from Camden House that offers fresh perspectives on German-language films of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries—and on some films that are not in the canon but deserve to be. Written in a jargon-free and accessible style by widely respected scholars and connoisseurs of German film, volumes in this series are addressed to academics and the general public alike. Each volume offers a probing, book-length, extended essay on an individual film, opening up relevant contexts and providing new insights into the film’s production, its place in the history of German and international filmmaking, and its most striking formal features.
