Rochester Studies in Medieval Political Thought
Rochester Studies in Medieval Political Thought, edited by Douglas Kries of Gonzaga University and Joshua Parens of the University of Dallas, publishes scholarship on an often overlooked yet critical tradition of political thought within the history of political thought. Emerging from the initial confrontation of classical philosophy and monotheistic revealed religion, medieval political thought is the precursor to our modern thought and thus crucial to understanding our own politics. The series develops and issues primarily interpretive studies on political writings from the medieval period, thematic studies of a political question or problem unique to the period, and studies that compare medieval political thought with classical, modern, or postmodern thought.
