Pasold Studies in Textile, Dress and Fashion History
This series, published in association with the Pasold Research Fund and comprising monographs and edited collections, is concerned with textile, fashion, and clothing history from academic and museological perspectives. The range incorporates social, cultural, and economic history and material culture history, along with distinctive approaches drawn from anthropology, art history, fashion theory, and critical studies. Recent trends in fashion and dress history seen in popular museum exhibitions and in an increasingly global understanding of the manufacture and trade in textiles are reflected in this series.
The Pasold Research Fund was established in 1964 to promote the pursuit of high quality research in all aspects of the history of textiles, dress, and fashion. Since then, it has supported hundreds of research projects in Britain and beyond ranging from archaeological excavations to twentieth-century fashion and fabric design, including the history of textile manufacturing and technologies, the textile labour force, the cultural and social contexts in which textiles and dress are produced and consumed, and textile conservation.
Series Editors: Professor Stana Nenadic (University of Edinburgh), and the Editorial Board comprises Professor Maria Hayward (University of Southampton), Professor Beverly Lemire (University of Alberta), and Professor Peter McNeil (University of Technology, Sydney).
